Dr. Joseph Palermo
Presidential War Powers
 Dr.
Palermo, of the CSUS History Department, presented us with a fascinating
talk, not only on the war powers recently given to George Bush, but also
on how those powers have been used (and abused) over the past 226 years.
Although Dr. Palermo spoke for a full hour, he spent close to an
additional hour dealing with the insatiable curiosity of his audience and
their enthusiasm for the topic. Eventually, time ran out with many
questions remaining to be asked.
Happily, Dr. Palermo has stated his willingness to return for a
subsequent engagement.
